2012 season update
The KMSL Board of directors recently met and we are working on an exciting 2012 season. The planned schedule will have room for 40 teams this year with 10 teams in each Division. There will be a Division 1,2,3A ,3B. We are limited in size by field allocation and referee crews.
The AGM is scheduled for February 07 2012 at Tree Brewing at 7pm. At the AGM, the league requires a registration form along with a $500 deposit. Fees will remain roughly the same as last year at around $2,300. This is based on an 18 game league schedule and is subject to change based on registration. The balance of fees + the $400 performance bond will be due at the end of March. There will be a waiting list this year. Priority will be given to returning teams, however, once the registration deadline is over (the AGM) new registrations will be considered.
Based on feedback from managers at the end of the 2011 season, the call up rule has been changed for the 2012 season. Players can only play up (no change). The signing deadline/transfer deadline is June 30th. Players can play up an unlimited number of games through the regular season. No player movement is permitted in the playoffs.
There will be trophies awarded for playoff and division winners this season.
There is an important penalty change for the 2012 season. Serious foul play remains a minimum 3 game suspension while those players assessed with a violent conduct red card will now be assessed a minimum of a 5 game suspension.
In addition, forfeited games will now be assessed fines equal to the costs incurred by the league for fields and officials. The fine last season was $150. The fine in 2012 increased to approx $155.
The Royal Cup is back again after a successful re-launch in 2011. Games will be worked into the schedule with championship games in September.
